Project Objectives
The Msimbazi Basin Development Project is driven by two core objectives aimed at fortifying the region’s resilience and fostering sustainable growth.
- The project focuses on bolstering flooding resilience in flood-prone areas by identifying low-risk zones, facilitating the relocation of vulnerable communities, and implementing strategies to minimize disruptions to transportation networks, including Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) operations.
- The project aims to enhance integrated urban development in economically vital areas within Msimbazi. This involves establishing an institutional framework for effective land use management and development, along with the creation of planned areas equipped with essential infrastructure to support economic activities and urban living. These initiatives collectively strive to create a safer, more prosperous, and more resilient Msimbazi for its residents and future generations.
